Mike just proposed!!!!   :)

I feel productive!!
Okay, not really. I have a cold and feel like crap, but I am getting caught up on a lot of things.

Where to start?? How about with the biggest news this week...Mike and I bought an engagement ring this week. Yay! We are thinking of a September wedding but we are waiting to really plan once the holidays are over. Both sides of our families seem to be really happy so it's awesome. My ring is being sized and should be in in about 3 weeks. This is a pic of it.

So that's the big news. And as things are planned I will update you all.

I also started back to school recently and am in my second semester. It's hard work but I absolutely love it. I'm going back for Elementary Education. Can't wait to finish it already. Got my grades back from last semester and I got a 4.0! WOOT!

That's just about all that's going on. Just wanted to give a quick update! :)

6 Month Anniversary and other things....
This past weekend marked 6 months for Mike and I. It was nice to just relax for the weekend. Although I couldn't relax as much as I would have liked. Last week my car started acting up and I thought it was my alternator, and so I was trying to figure out how I was going to get this fixed. I thought my friend, Al, was going to be able to fix it on Sunday, so I didn't worry too much. So on Saturday, Mike and I went out to breakfast at a little place in Wolfeboro called Crepes Oh La La. We had gone there on one of our first dates and loved it. Then we went home and hung out for the rest of the day. Later that day, I managed to injure myself (not much of a surprise there). I walked into the alcove and accidentally hit a large jar candle with my hand and knocked it onto my foot. My foot swelled up and got very bruised. So I have been hobbling around the past few days. On Sunday, I found out Al wasn't going to be able to do my car. I called Ron and he said he would be able to work on it on Monday. So I ended up not being able to go to work yesterday and we also found out that it wasn't the alternator. We still don't know what it is. We fixed the valve cover gasket which had been leaking oil everywhere. That was a project in itself. In fact, my car is still in pieces in Ron's basement. The battery and the alternator are both showing that they work, yet my battery light is still on. We don't know if it may have something to do with the actual circuit to the battery light. We also noticed there was a large draw coming from the battery when the car was off, which means something is trying to get energy even when the car is off...Yeah so my car is all screwy.

On to other things, I'm looking for a second job. I need to save more for when Mike and I get our apartment in August. My car payment, and the fact my car keeps breaking, is not helping.

Well, that's the Reader's Digest version of what's been going on. I gotta get off my butt and help Ron finish putting my car back together. Hopefully, there's no extra pieces. LOL

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...
God, I am so ready for winter to be over with. I had forgotten what cabin fever felt like after being in FL for 3 1/2 years...So we got about 3 1/2 inches today, then it started snowing golf ball sized snowflakes, and now there's slush falling from the sky...lovely. I shoveled a few times today and salted and it's just mush everywhere. Plus, Mother Nature thought it would be really funny to have the trees throw snowballs at me while I was cleaning off my car...

So I've done nothing that I wanted to accomplish today because of the weather. Instead I spent the day starting to watch Lost...Mike has been talking about this show, and I thought I should maybe start watching it...so today I started watching Season 1. Only up to episode 6 but I'm already hooked...and also already confused about stuff...

Heading down to Nashua on Friday night and Mike and I are going to go to the Harry Potter Exhibit at the Museum of Science in Boston on Saturday. Should be awesome..kinda bummed though that they won't let us take cameras in. Oh well.

Talked to Monica tonight and she might be coming up to NH for her birthday. I hope she can make it. Haven't seen her for almost a year. I miss my B!

Anyway, I'm going to head to bed shortly, but just wanted to give a quick update on stuff.

Have a great night everyone!

Old poem I wrote...

So I was going through some of my old stuff and I found this poem, or maybe it's lyrics, I'm not sure, but anyway, I thought I would post it. Thinking I might get back into writing...maybe.

Where did it go?
The life I thought I would lead.
I've been wandering through life,
Just trying to find what I need.
I thought it would be more than this,
How can you miss,
Something you've never known before.

Watching and waiting for my life to start.
Doing nothing but being faithful to my heart.
But life it seems, won't pay attention to your dreams.
It doesn't want to play that part.
So here I stand, watching life pass me by,
Thinking of things I might never know.
To myself, I just cannot lie,
So it is time for me to go.

Standing in line, to board that plane,
And trying to ignore the pain.
Leaving that life behind,
In order to find the new life I will gain.

New Year update....
Today's To Do List included such items as: Clean the kitchen, Re-arrange the alcove, do my homework, and what was that other thing......ah, yes, update my Live Journal.

Where do I even start.. How about the holidays.

Well, like I mentioned in my last entry, I went to Mike's house for the weekend of the 20th and met his parents. It was a great weekend, and his parents are really nice. The next week he met my family, and they were on good behavior, so that went well. They all really liked Mike, and Mike didn't run for dear life, so that is a good sign as well. LOL Then he came back up to Alton on Dec. 30th and stayed until the 4th, and it was very hard to say goodbye after spending so many days together.

January 8th marked 2 months that Mike and I have been together. Part of me can't believe that 2 months has passed already, but at the same time it feels like it's been longer, because it seems like we have known each other for years. We can talk so openly about things and be ourselves, and not worry about saying the wrong thing or how the other will react. Everything about our relationship just feels natural to me.

We have discussed moving in together and getting an apartment in Dover next summer.  We have a long way to go to accomplish this but I believe it will happen. I can't wait. :)

I started back to school this week, for my associates degree in business administration. I only have a few classes left and then I will be graduating in May. Yay! Finally...It only took 9 years...

Anyways, I would write more, but I really do have a HUGE to do list for today so i need to get working on that.

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and I wish you all a very happy New Year!

My week of events...
So last week was not exactly the greatest week. First it started with the alternator going on my car. So I ordered the part at work and Ron said he would put it in at the end of the day...then he realized he didn't have the tool to do so. My friend, Jamie, who is a guy I work with, loaned me his old 80 something Ford pickup. I really appreciated him doing that for me, but holy crap, was that thing hard to drive. So I go into work on Tuesday, Ron said he found out it was going to be more work than he thought to get the alternator in because of where it was located. He would need to do it in his garage...in Middleton. So we charged my battery enough so I could drive it to Middleton, but he had his truck and my boss's truck to fix before we could work on mine. By the time that was done, it was midnight. So, my car didn't get fixed again. SO I ended up staying at Ron's that night and we ride into work on Wednesday, the day of the bad snow storm, and at the end of the day, we have no ride, cause we had driven to work in my boss's truck. So we finally get picked up about and hour and a half after we got out of work, (Our ride got stuck in the driveway at her place because of the nasty weather) and I got to Ron's and Justin had just finished putting the alternator in my car...then he had to put everything back together...I was so happy it was done. All I wanted to do was go home, shower, and sleep...no such luck. I get home, and drove into my driveway and got stuck...so stuck that after 2 hours of shoveling I still couldn't free my car. At 1:30am I gave up and decided there was no way I was going into work the next day. I still got up however the next morning at 6am and tried shoveling again...nothing. So I lost a day of pay. Then Justin had to pull me out of the driveway with his car, and then I drove to my mom's because she needed me to bring her cat to the vet. So I get to my mom's and my mom's cat, Snookie, that we have had since I was 9, was not doing well....at all....so we got to the vet and within 10 minutes we had to put Snookie to sleep. By Friday, I was so emotionally and physically exhausted I could barely do anything..and I had to work Friday and Saturday then went to my grandparents house to help clean and put up Christmas decorations, which actually was pretty fun. I got to see my Aunt and Uncle that I haven't seen in awhile, so that was nice. But it has just been one of those weeks. On a high note, I am leaving tomorrow after work to spend the whole weekend with my boyfriend, Mike. I can't wait to see him. I've missed him so much. I'm going to be meeting his parents, which I am so nervous about. Should be a fun weekend though. :) Anyway, I was supposed to be at my Mom's about an hour ago, so I'm thinking I should get off my butt and get over there. ~Jenn P.S. I've just received word that my favorite restaurant for buffalo fingers is re-opening tonight after being closed for God's knows how long...The 103 in Rochester....thinking some buffalo fingers are in order....<input ... ></input><input ... >

Finally...an update...
Hey everyone, I know it has been a really long time since I've updated this. Well I have lots to tell....

Let's start back to where my last entry left off. I had said that I had found a job in Portsmouth and was waiting on the background check. Three weeks later I finally got the job...It lasted 2 weeks. I tried to keep it because I know how the economy is, but I had originally been told I would get 30 hours a week and it was more like 5. So I couldn't afford to keep driving to Portsmouth for 5 hours a week...and not even all in one day...So I left there and started going to a few places to put in applications and such. Finally about a month ago, I got a full time job working as a delivery driver for an auto parts store in Dover. And I actually really enjoy it. It's really hard work and most of the time, I hurt at the end of the day, but being on the road all day is great.

Speaking of driving...I was heading home from work on Friday, and all of a sudden, my battery light comes on in my car...I make it home and Justin looks at it, and tells me I need a new alternator...Just freakin' lovely. So my dad was supposed to come over and help me today, but it's Sunday, and no auto parts places are open..again, just freakin' lovely. So I'm hoping that I can have a used alternator delivered to my work sometime during the beginning of this week so I can get that fixed....I hate my car....

The next few weeks are going to be very busy with the holidays and all. I was supposed to go to my grandparents this weekend to put up their Christmas decorations and clean a bit for them, but because of the whole thing with my car, I will probably be doing it next weekend. Then the weekend after, I will probably be at my brother's house, working on some CD's we are making for our grandparents 60th anniversary. Speaking of which, the weekend after that is their anniversary party (shhh....it's a surprise) and so I will be cleaning their house more before that happens. I can't wait for this because my whole family will be together the day after Christmas. My boyfriend, Mike, will be coming with me and meeting my family, which I am very excited about. Then the next weekend is New Years and Mike is coming up to spend it with me and then we are going to my dad's for New Years Day.

And I was officially welcomed back to New England yesterday with 3 inches of snow...I went out and frolicked in it for awhile, then realized I had had my fill of snow for the year....it's going to be a long winter....

That's about all for now..I'm going to try to be better at updating this more often, but if I don't i hope everyone has a great holiday season!
